Evidence of God’s Love & Protection For His Children
Trivia:
It’s interesting how each of you had a varied impression of which city was the most populated city in Missouri. However, K.C. is the nick name of Kansas City and it is the largest city in Missouri with 508,724 people living there. The state of Missouri and the state of Kansas both maintain the name of Kansas City. You all made some good guesses.
Here’s an interesting question. Which soft drink was created by the Coca-Cola company? Pepsi; Miranda; 7up; Sprite?
Challenge:
Psalm 105:9-15 “This is the covenant He made with Abraham and the oath He swore to Isaac. 10 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, and to the people of Israel as a neverland-ending covenant: 11 “I will give you the land of Canaan as your special possession.” 12 He said this when they were few in number, a tiny group of strangers in Canaan. 13 They wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. 14 Yet He did not let anyone oppress them. He warned kings on their behalf. 15 “Do not touch my chosen people, and do not hurt my prophets.”
You may be asking just what are the important elements of this covenant that God has promised to Israel?
In verse 10 He declares that it is an everlasting covenant (never ending)
Verse 11 the evidence of His allegiance to them is the sole possession of the land of Canaan
Verse 12 declares that their number is not the necessity of the covenant (He love them not because of
their numerical size, but rather His promise
Verse 13,14 states that regardless of the location of their estate He promises to protect them from
any people who may attempt to oppress them
Verse 15 God leaves our passage with a warning to all nations of the earth, “Do not touch my chosen
people, and do not hurt my prophets.”
This set of verses helps us to recognize where we should place our own levels of importance in our own lives.
We should be aware of the place that longevity has in God’s eyes when it comes to His concerns
Next, the Lord places great importance on the extent of the bond that He makes on earthly promises He reminds us that He places value of His love for us, not on any physical appearances of the present
Regardless of the evil intentions of our world, or the place we may be in life He will protect us
SO GO WITH GOD for He alone purposes to uphold, strengthen, guide, and care for us. Regardless of our failures He desires and yearns to bring purpose and meaning to our lives, so rest in Him.
