Have you ever wandered why insects are drawn to light? Well actually there are several reasons 1) they fly at night by navigating by the light of the moon so that; light is guiding them but due to being closer than the moon they bump into your light 2) other insects are drawn to it because of the warmth 3) once they come into the light it’s brightness blinds them, so they must stay near it or be blinded & become dinner to other predators. So these are the reasons for insects circling intense light sources. Oh well, there is an answer yellow smaller led lights are one solution to this dilemma. So much for this trivia.
Prov. 25:14 ”A person who promises a gift but doesn’t give it is like clouds and wind that bring no rain.”
Have you ever noticed “
Fads don’t produce the rain they promise
Ministries based on miracles cause people to drift
But the Bible is always solid, practical, and wonderful.”
That is why we Christians are committed to learning the scriptures, because we have come to see that our Father is always trustworthy, practical, and relatable, in all of His ways.
This proverb is dealing with everyday promises, but we have all experienced people who promise being gifted in a spiritual sense, and fall short due to their failure of allowing the Spirit to control their lives. The Indians back home have a saying, “Heap big wind-no rain.”
We have all experienced this disappointment in; politicians, leaders, and even unfortunately with believers who make promises they are unable to keep.
It is important that we uphold our promises, or don’t make promises to begin with. We have all faced this struggle when we have over promised. My dad used to say this to me, “Son always practice under promising & over delivering.” Then you will never disappoint others in your life.
I think he said this because of the fact that I am an eternal optimist and have the tendency to expect the ultimate outcome when only the minimum is able to be achieved.
So Go With God for He alone will never fail us. He will always accomplish the greatest benefit in our lives, and to others.
Heb. 13:5 … be satisfied with what you have, For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you. (1 Peter 4:9)
