What Is God’s Emphasis His Message Or His Messenger?
Trivia:
Good guess everyone. Winston Churchill was the first person to receive the use of “OMG” in a letter. He received this inference in 1917, from retired Navy Admiral John A. Fisher who had become a prominent political figure, while discussing the matter of World War 1, in a letter far before the digital age.

Psalm 106:16-18 “The people in the camp were jealous of Moses and envious of Aaron, the Lord’s holy priest. 17 Because of this, the earth opened up; it swallowed Dothan and buried Abiram and other rebels; 18 Fire fell upon their followers; a flame consumed the wicked.”
This brief recount of God’s dealings with those who set out to rebel against God’s leaders is spoken of in detail in the book of Numbers 16:1-50.
We see from this passage, the importance of how we should deal with those people who God puts in places of leadership. These people according to Numbers 16 were influential leaders at that time but rather than placing value on the prominence that they had been given. They instead became jealous of Moses and Aaron and challenged their leadership and message.
As you read this passage in Numbers it is easy to see that God places great importance on being faithful followers of God and His message overe those who He places in leadership. For even though God had placed them as spiritual leaders they were desirous of a greater place of importance.
We learn from this incident that God’s greatest concern for our life isn’t the place of importance that we are given, but rather our responsibility to listen to God’s words and then how we faithfully pass His message onto others. It is so easy to lose sight of the importance of our obedience to God’s voice through His words in the scripture.
As well as, the need for us to pass on these words faithfully to others. Not in an authorative way for we are just the transmitters of His words, not the initiators. Both Dothan and Abiram and all the others lost sight of the God behind these leaders. They (Moses & Aaron) were simply called to transmit His message to the nation.
SO GO WITH GOD and listen intently to His voice, and then faithfully transmit these truths onto the God of these words. It is His message that is the prominent truth that we are to pass on.
