Good morning! There is great responsibility that comes with our walk with Jesus and the gifts of salvation to our lives. In my trade there is a hierarchy of positions, but the most basic look at it is this: journeymen and apprentices (mechanics and helpers). The schooling takes a few years to complete depending on intellect at which time you are qualified . In the past, there were those who did not want the resonsibilities that came with being a "good mechanic", therefore, we had career "helpers". As is with my trade, responsibility goes up in a follower of Jesus' life, with knowledge in God (and that starts immediately with salvation). God refers to people as "sheep", (which, by the way, is NOT a compliment!), so my question is this: Are YOU a leader or one of the sheep? Being a leader adds responsibility but also rewards and privilege (if I can use that term in a positive!). The saying "Lead, Follow, or, Get out of the way" has a different meaning when applied here. Are you CONTENT as a sheep or are you up to the challenges of being a LEADER? We all have a chuckle over, "I am the man of my house, isn't that right honey?", but if you are a leader, you lead with wisdom, strength, humility, grace, and mercy. 1 Timothy 3:1-7 describes overseers in which each of us should emulate; blameless and beyond reproach, husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not addicted to wine, not a bully or quick-tempered and hot headed, but gentle and considerate, free from the love of money. He must manage his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity. And he must have a good reputation and be well thought of by those OUTSIDE the church, so that he will not be discredited and fall into the devil's trap." That is a lot of responsibility! Are you up to it? Armor Up and be a light to all those around you. Set the RIGHT example and lead the lost to a Savior's waiting arms! God bless and have a great day!
