Trivia:
Good guess everyone but we were all wrong. The official state bird for Alabama is the Yellow Hammer, also called the northern flicker. They were given their name after the cavalry soldiers from Huntsville who had brilliant yellow cloth on their sleeves, collars, and coattails on their uniforms.
Here is a more recent trivia item: Which of these companies is the U. S. largest employer? Microsoft; Olive Garden; Walmart; Apple? Make your guess.
Challenge:
Psalm 24:1-6 "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to Him. For He laid the earth's foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive the Lord's blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. Such people may seek You and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob."
Now let's go back and think through these absolutely fabulous words that are placed in this Psalm.
Everything on the earth is our God's, even the people who reject Him, they were created by Him, and in fact are still being lovingly cared for by Him even though they aren't able to recognize Him and His love.
Imagine that, talk about a loving God, He reaches out to all men with His love, even those who refuse His love. Can you fathom that?
He laid the earth's foundation, formed the sea, lifted up the mountains, and even opened up His holy place. He then offers to all of mankind the ability to stand complete before Him, with His many blessings, and the absolute ability to live in proper relationship with God our Savior.
Here we are an unclean people in our own eyes, we can be made pure before Him because of His love showered onto us through Jesus' precious gift of cleansing and forgiveness.
SO GO WITH GOD my dear ones, we have the priviledge of walking with Him, the creator of the entire universe. Then not only are we privileges to walk with Him, but we can also rest in His love and the shadow of His care. Love so amazing.
