Our meditation today is found in Prov. 21:3 “The Lord is more pleased when we do what is right and just than when we offer him sacrifices.”
In other words; How we live is more important than how we give.
Jesus spoke to that issue when He warned the Pharisees in Matt. 23:23. They were careful to tithe even from their spice garden, but failed to have compassion on the people who needed for them to care about their physical concerns.
These were some of the very people who would yell out, soon, “Crucify Him” in response to Jesus’ punishment.
This very same instruction was emphasized in the Old Testament time period in 1 Sam. 15:22; Jer. 7:22,23; Hos. 6:6.
While even the prophets spoke in the same way in Isa. 1:11-17; Micah 6:6-8.
So Go With God knowing that He cares more for our heart than our savings account. His desire is fellowship & obedience more so , than great physical achievements. He yearns to partner through our lives than to accomplish great feats. So draw near Him in prayer, for He loves it when call upon Him, when we joy in Him.
