Well good morning to you my friends. Do you know why a mom decided to take up soccer in her spare time? Oh, it was just for kicks. Hope you got a kick out of that. haaaaa!!!
Our meditation for today is found in Prov. 18:3 “When the wicked comes, contempt comes also; And with dishonor comes reproach.”
This verse is a warning against playing around with wrong, evil thoughts and actions In our lives.
Satan the enemy is always attempting to trick us into thinking that evil practices are just innocent acts. However, Solomon warns us that they bring contempt & shame into our lives.
The Bible reminds us of this fact; that sin brings disgrace & contempt into our lives.
Numbers 32:23 reminds us “your sin will find you out”. Note—God doesn’t track us down, but rather our sin does. In some way, at some time, sin finds us out.
That’s why God warns us in Galatians 6:7 “ Don’t be misled-you will harvest what you plant.” Now, sometimes it takes awhile for the crop to come up, and it appears that the wrong was gotten away with, but, repercussions always come. Always.
Shame & disgrace always come up, just like weeds always return.
Our housing development is planted with drought tolerant landscape, they put drip system watering (drip water on plants only) and then weed block fabric on the ground then put wood shavings on top. It works pretty well, however, weeds sneak in because wind and water still have a force, the weeds still grow. We have to constantly pull those pesky weeds out.
In the same way wrong practices that are allowed to remain in our lives will result in ultimately raising their ugly heads and bring embarrassment our way.
So Go With God and He will bring those bad, evil practices to our attention and as we repent & remove them from our lives, the new life practice will spring up with a beauty & fragrance for us and others to enjoy.
