Psalm 20:6-9 "Now I know that the Lord rescues his anointed king. He will answer him from His holy heaven and rescue him by His great power. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm. Give victory to our king, O Lord! Answer our cry for help."

The primary thrust of these verses is that our trust should rather than being held in human skills, or earthly effort our's should be placed in our God. Then the question might be ask, Why? Well of course these earthly things are all limited, while God our Yahweh, is limitless on all concerns.

Israel today stands out today as our example, or living proof, for as a nation they were vaporized into non existence, but after Hitler practically destroyed of the people of their nation, the people of Israel called out to God for deliverance. He caused the peoples of the world to feel sympathy and support for the few people left of the Jewish nation. This caused the entire people of the age to honor and offer for them the original "Promised Land" for their land.

Now they are capable of standing strong against most of the people in the middle east nations. Why? God called all believers everywhere to honor and protect them as a nation. He went on to promise all nations will be blessed if they upheld Israel's existence. Now, though they have not come to the place of recognizing Christ as Messiah, they do recognize and worship their God, Jahweh, eternal provider.

As the last verse of this chapter says, "Give victory to our king, O Lord! Answer our cry for help." This prayer is a reminder to us, that any nation that boasts in the Lord's protection and care they will experience His favor and victory. Why? Because of the promise found in verse 6, "Now I know that the Lord rescues His annointed."

SO GO WITH GOD for He will bring honor, and power to those who place their trust in Him. That is why we boast in His name, hold high His banner, and finally experience the victory that only He can promise.
